In February 2017, I heard Dr. Youssef's series Got Freedom and the timing of those messages changed my life. I was numbing my pain but hiding it very well. No one knew I had an issue—but I knew, and God knew. The dependency on something other than God fueled my depression and left me feeling like a failure as a believer. If I loved God, why could I not be obedient?
Dr. Youssef's teaching series taught me that God loved me right where I was, sin and all. Nothing would change His love for me. It reminded me I was never meant to handle my pain on my own; Jesus could and would take it from me if I would just let go. Because of that series, God healed me from the bondage I was in—and little did I know, He was also preparing me for the biggest storm of my life.

The very next month, my entire world and everything I knew was turned upside down. 2017 was the hardest year of my life. Had it not been for Leading The Way and hearing that series when I did, I have no doubt I would have folded my hands and given up. Instead, I went into the storm with so much grace from above, and in the midst of my heart being broken in a million pieces, I had so much joy.
I am so thankful for Dr. Youssef and his obedience in not watering down the message of Christ. His uncompromising ability to speak the Truth of God's Word is a blessing. God is faithful!
