Cindy*, a Leading The Way listener, shares her story:
I was a housewife and a victim of domestic violence. As a result, I had to divorce my husband to protect myself and my two little boys. I was with another man and pregnant with a third son when I fell into a church and surrendered my life to Christ.
You were the first minister I heard talk about the issues I was facing in a way that helped me stop punishing myself.
During this time, you, Michael Youssef, were my teacher. I began listening to you on Christian radio, and every morning you would come and teach me the Bible. I would rush around in the morning, settle the children, and then sit with you and God. You were the first minister I heard talk about the issues I was facing in a way that helped me stop punishing myself. The Scriptures began to unpack a God I feared to a God who hurt deeply for me.
Twenty-four years later, my new husband and all my sons are worshiping and serving God fervently. Two of my sons were recently on mission in a small town in Australia . . . [and] that group of young Christians witnessed to so many people last year.
Bless you, Michael. From a lowly, broken woman to a courageous servant of Christ—I truly thank you.
